How We Rate Casinos
Our 2026 methodology. At accounting4biz.co.uk, we use the same evidence-led framework to assess every casino, including non-GamStop and Curaçao-licensed sites. Reviewers examine published terms, verify regulatory information and, where access is available, test registration, games, payments and support. We record when checks were performed and distinguish verified findings from operator claims.
Commercial relationships do not buy a higher score. Ratings apply to the specific operator and website reviewed, not to every casino using the same platform or licence. Because terms, ownership and withdrawal practices can change, a score is an editorial assessment rather than a guarantee of safety or future performance.
Important for GB readers: a non-GamStop casino is not part of Great Britain’s national self-exclusion scheme. We never treat that status as a benefit. A Curaçao or Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) credential does not replace the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) permission required for gambling services offered to consumers in Great Britain.
Licensing & Regulation
Weighting: 25%. Licensing is our most important category because bonuses and game libraries offer little value if the operator cannot be identified or held accountable.
- UKGC and local GB licensing: for GB-facing services, we check the relevant UKGC public register entry, licensed activities, trading names and approved domains. We do not describe an offshore casino as UK-regulated merely because it accepts players with UK IP addresses or pounds sterling.
- MGA and Curaçao checks: where relevant, we compare the operator’s legal entity, licence number and website with official MGA or current Curaçao regulatory records. A logo, certificate screenshot or claim in the footer is not sufficient on its own.
- Ownership and accountability: we examine the company behind the casino, its regulatory history, related brands, complaint routes and the clarity of its governing terms.
- Player safeguards: we review identity and age checks, anti-money-laundering procedures, player-fund arrangements, dormant-account rules and the fairness of account-closure provisions.
An unverifiable licence, mismatched legal entity or misleading regulatory claim can result in a score cap or no recommendation, regardless of how well the casino performs elsewhere.
Game Selection & Software Providers
Weighting: 20%. We assess variety and quality rather than rewarding the largest advertised game count.
- We review the range of slots, live casino games and table games, including blackjack, roulette, baccarat, poker variants and game shows.
- We check whether recognised software providers are genuinely available on the reviewed domain and whether games are accessible to players in the stated market.
- We look for clear return-to-player (RTP) information, game rules, independent testing claims and transparent details about progressive jackpots.
- We test loading, search and filtering tools, mobile compatibility and session stability where possible. Demo play is noted, but its availability does not prove that real-money games are fair.
- We consider live-dealer studio quality, table limits, opening hours and whether the lobby contains excessive duplication or misleading provider branding.
Bonus Terms & Wagering Requirements
Weighting: 17%. The size of a welcome bonus matters less than whether a reasonable player can understand and use it. We read the general terms and the promotion-specific T&Cs together.
- Rollover: we establish whether wagering applies to the bonus, the deposit, or both. For example, a £100 bonus with 40× bonus wagering requires £4,000 in qualifying wagers before game weighting or other restrictions are considered.
- Game contributions: we check exclusions and reduced contributions for slots, live casino and table games, along with maximum-bet rules and time limits.
- Withdrawal restrictions: we examine maximum cashout limits, conversion caps, withdrawal locks, minimum-odds rules and whether real-money winnings can be confiscated.
- Fairness and clarity: we look for vague “bonus abuse” clauses, retroactive changes, contradictory terms and conditions that allow unlimited discretion without adequate explanation.
Free spins, cashback and no-deposit offers are assessed using the same principles. A large headline figure receives no credit when its material restrictions are hidden or unreasonable.
Payment Methods & Withdrawal Speed
Weighting: 14%. We evaluate the complete payment journey, not just the number of logos displayed at the cashier.
- We check the actual availability of crypto, e-wallets, cards and bank transfers, including currency support, minimum and maximum transactions, fees and GB-specific restrictions.
- We separate the casino’s pending and approval time from the payment network’s processing time. Advertised “instant” withdrawals are not accepted at face value.
- Where practical, we time a real withdrawal and document verification requests, communication and any unexpected delays. Otherwise, the speed is clearly labelled as unverified.
- We review know-your-customer requirements, source-of-funds checks, closed-loop payment rules and whether the casino can repeatedly demand documents without a clear reason.
- For cryptocurrency, we also consider network fees, supported chains, address errors, volatility and irreversibility. Crypto payments are not treated as anonymous or risk-free.
Customer Support
Weighting: 10%. Support should resolve problems accurately, not merely provide a fast greeting.
- We test claims of 24/7 live chat at different times, including outside standard business hours, and assess whether users reach a knowledgeable person or only an automated bot.
- We evaluate email responsiveness, complaint handling and the usefulness of help-centre articles.
- Our questions cover wagering, verification, withdrawal delays, account closure and responsible-gambling tools.
- We score agents on accuracy, consistency with the written terms, tone and willingness to escalate unresolved issues. Support available only through informal messaging channels receives additional scrutiny.
Mobile Experience
Weighting: 8%. We assess whether players can use the casino’s essential functions safely and comfortably on a phone or tablet.
- We test responsive design, navigation, game loading, cashier access
